We are T - minus 36 days away from my oldest child's wedding. I just realized that the burgundy dress I ordered months back won't work with the applicable wedding attire because it 1. has silver sparkles all over it and 2. there's not much if any burgundy used in the wedding decor! 🤦🏻♀️
Thankfully, I was able to order a new long length navy dress for $50. Talk about divine timing!! I could have died when I realized that my original beautiful dress wasn't going to work. Why I chose anything with silver in it is beyond me. I can't send it back so I guess I'm going to have to find a reason to wear that gorgeous dress.
When your the mother of the groom, you usually don't get too involved in the wedding preparations. Me, I'm lucky. My future daughter to be and I love each other more than I can explain. Her mother and I have become besties and I claim her family as my own already. I've been invited to every dress fitting, meeting and decor making event. I never knew I could and would enjoy every second so much.
As we go through the the wedding process, I'm learning to live in each moment, soak in all the fun and joy and appreciate everyone involved. I'm telling you, as a natural born planner, letting go and just being present in each amazing moment has taught me so much about life as a whole.
It truly isn't about the details of a dress color. It's about the people you're sharing these moments with. I'm not stressed, I'm present. I'm allowed to just soak in all the goodness around me.
I can't wait for the wedding. Not just for the ceremony and celebration, but for more memories to be made and love to be shared.
Friends...let's slow down and just take all the goodness in. There's so much to be thankful for.
