Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you know you need to pray about it but just can't find the words? I suspect most of us have. I am in that situation right now.
Something's been weighing on my heart heavily today and I just can't shake it. I've tried praying about it a few times today. I tried praying at church and I just couldn't find the words. I tried praying after I got home....nothing!
I've prayed about this same heaviness before and I've always been able to bring it to God with honesty, conviction, and clarity. Today...I'm just weary. I think, women especially, pray so hard for so long about something that when nothing seems to be changing we begin to lose our hope and our hearts become weary.
Here's the thing though, he's still right by our side, even in the silence. We all know that God wants us to stay in prayer with him. We forget that he doesn't expect beautifully orchestrated words, long poetic prayers or perfect sentences. He just wants us to call out to him. AND because he loves us so, he allows the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf. I'm reminded of this promise in Romans 8:26-27.
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans" (NIV).
During this time of weariness and troubled hearts, he wants us to give it to him and rest. Trust me, Ms. Control Freak here knows how hard that can be for us ladies.
All I'm trying to say is that God knows the emotional burdens, tough situations, financial issues, relationship problems you're carrying. It's okay to call on his name and sit in silence with him. He's always listening and is working behind the scenes, even when it feels like nothing is happening. Just call out to him my friends. Ask him to sit with you, remove the heaviness from that weary but beautiful heart of yours and fill you up with his peace. I even go as far to ask him to let me feel his presence like it's a big ol hug, but that's just me...
I truly hope this encourages you to never stop praying. I love you guys!!
