Where Am I??

Well friends, tonight I find myself sitting in the parking lot of this little movie theater aptly named Parisian Movie Theater.  It's aptly named that because I've ventured to Paris, Tn to watch a movie with a friend.

As I'm waiting for their arrival, I'm totally confused.  How can a town larger than the one I currently live in Kentucky feel more like Mayberry RFD than home???  It's like I've crossed state lines into a whole other world.

I'm not degrading Paris at all.  I've watched an old couple holding hands as they exited the theater.  The only time their hands unlocked was for the man to open the truck door for his little lady.  He gingerly helped her inside the truck, buckled her seat belt and softly closed the door.  Next couple was a young couple, maybe in their early 20's.  It was the same song and dance...hands being held tightly until it was time for little Miss to get into the car.  The fella opened the door, helped her into the car and gently closed the door behind her.

I haven't experienced that kind of chivalry myself, ever.  Well, maybe on a first date almost 30 years ago.  I think the men are being raised differently here.  Or I haven't been looking for love in the right places.  LOL. I'm 50 and I'm in awe and shock.

Whoever is teaching these men to respect and show love to their ladies like this has done a fantastic job.  Kudos to you parents!  In my mind, this is not about women's liberation or self love or independence.  Ladies need to be treated like this more.  It really made my heart feel good.

Just a little mindless or mindful chatter, depending on how you want to look at it!

Love you guys!

Kelley
