Finding Our Tribe

The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense" (Proverbs 27:9)

Tonight I spent some time with two very special women, laughing, eating and listening to great music.  I had such a wonderful time.  I'm home now and I feel so blessed.  These two ladies have become part of my "heartfelt counsel", or as I like to call them, "My Tribe".

These wild women accept me for who I am, where ever I am in this crazy journey called life.  They don't judge me but they don't always agree with me either.  They share their opinions with absolute love and empathy.  I think these are the women the Bible speaks about in the verse I shared above.  I'm grateful for their beautiful hearts.

It's funny how you can just instantly connect with another person.  I don't believe in accidental meetings or fate.  I do believe in divine intervention and I know God put the three of us at the right place in the right time.  God knows who we need in our lives and exactly when we need them.  These friendships are deeply connected and genuine.  I can only thank God for helping me find my tribe at the most perfect times in my life.

Being a single woman who has gone through some dark days, I've come to cherish the women that God has sent to me.  Each one has helped me evolve into the person I am right now.  I'm truly blessed because I have several women friends or tribe members.  They've all connected with my soul, ministered to me on the days I can't find the strength on my own, sat with me so I'm not alone, made me laugh at life's crazy twists and turns and I love them all.   I have only mentioned two of my tribe members, but there are others that need to be mentioned. I hope to highlight each of these friendships in future blogs because they are far more precious than rubies and deserving of their own posts.

If God has sent you a friend like the ones I've described above, he has blessed you beyond measure.  I love my tribe and I owe them more than I can express on this post.  I pray that God sends you your tribe.  Ladies, you're all amazingly beautiful, generous and divinely gifted.  Thank you all for counseling me, lifting me up or even taking me down a peg when needed.  I love you all.
